A Painting Through Every Window

This past week I have been staying with  my friends Eric & Lori. They recently opened their new tasting room, which offers ciders created from the oldest organic farm in Maryland. You may have heard me say this phrase a few times. Today I want to focus on the scenery. There are beautiful views from the wrap around deck but to get a different perspective you need to go to the second floor loft area. For me and a few artist friends their is a painting waiting to be done from any of those views, especially those upper windows.

I generally do not do landscapes. I am more of an up close and personal painter. A walk around the orchards will give you those opportunities. But, I may have to try my hand at a few studies in green. Did I mention the cows? I know I will be doing some cows in the very near future.

Wildflowers, animals, trees and clouds that roll in over the hills. If you can not find something beautiful to paint, you just aren't looking. There might be an old rusty truck around. A country road with a one point perspective, fields with hay bales. Need I really go on, come on out bring your camera, sketchbook or check with the owners to set up your easel for the afternoon. It is a lovely way to spend the day.
