Something New In My Art World

I have been in the business of art making for many years. There are times when it is all about making art. There are also times when it is about the business. What do you do with all the art you create? Hopefully sell it, before that you order frames, glass, take photographs of the art at 300 dpi, assemble everything together, submit applications for shows, ship or deliver the work to galleries. Oh, do not forget to update the web site, do social media PR and submit to magazines, newspapers, etc.

Like today, I decided to start my new just art blog. I will keep the Wild at heART blog that deals with travel and art. This way I can focus on some of the To-Do's in art. Not just the business but some instruction elements too. The step by step tutorials in drawing, pastel, oil painting, maybe even paper-making.

The two blogs will have some cross over components travel and art coming very soon. My hope is that the travel blog will be more personal. The art blog will focus not on just my art but how to make your own art. I love to talk art, share ideas and encourage everyone to pick up that pencil.

This past week has been about the business of art. Inventories kind of done, labels on art going to several locations over the next month. Some of the art is packed, by this weekend I hope to have it all prepared for travel. More on the travel later for now here is what my studio looks like. Ready or not here I go!
